Period & Heritage Homes.

At Studio Lifestyling, we love working on modern houses but part of our hearts also belong to Period Homes and Queenslanders. These architectural treasures hold so much history and character, and it is our mission to highlight and celebrate their age-old features. Space planning plays a vital role when working with heritage homes. Unlike modern houses, which often come pre-planned with specific spaces, period homes have an organic and sometimes intricate layout. These unique layouts were influenced by a different lifestyle and period of history, and it is always an honour to witness these timeless homes transform into spaces that suit the needs of today.

From the selection of colours, textures, and furniture, to the smallest details such as lighting and accessories, we take care of every aspect of the design process. Our goal is to create a space that reflects the homeowner's personality while maintaining the home's heritage.

So if you own a period home, and you're looking for a design team that can transform it into a modern living space while preserving its historical charm, then look no further than Studio Lifestyling. Let us work together to create a space that you'll love to call home.

POST WAR HOME PROJECT, MOOROOKA QLD

The photos below are from a beautiful 1940's Post War home refresh in Moorooka. Our clients, Wendy and Elize, wanted every aspect of this historic home to be carefully designed and maintained. We paid attention to preserving the original windows, woodwork, and decorative plaster, while also selecting fresh paint, furniture, wallpaper, and fabrics that bring out a nostalgic feel.

From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a warm, inviting ambiance that sets the tone for the entire home. The living room features a classic colour palette of warm umbers, deep greens golds and neutrals, with both a mix of modern and traditional furniture. We chose a stunning curved sofa for a contemporary feel, while our clients existing artwork on the walls adds a pop of colour and personality.

Our most favourite feature in this home is the nook we created in an unused space off the living room. It is a great example of how to incorporate contemporary design elements while still honouring the traditional feel of the space and making a tired corner - completely transform before our eyes.

Our goal was to create a space that not only looks stunning but also reflects the clients' taste and respects the house's history.

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL

“Sarah absolutely transformed our house into a home that we adore. There is not a space or room in the house that we don’t love. She understood exactly what we wanted and delivered on every front. From start to finish, it was a joy working with her. Thankyou Sarah!! We just love being at home now”.
